Experience

Hey guys, it's been a while. We're wrapping up our expedition to this city soon so i'll just reflect to you guys on this awesome experience I able to have.
My team and I were the first people to explore this buried city since its demise from volcanic ash. We saw tons of people frozen in time as a statue for centuries, old civilization untouched, rare artifacts, and things we thought were myths. This journey I had is a one in a life time event because, how often do we find sites like these? Anyways, this might be the last post for this blog on Pompeii, unless we find some more exciting information. See you guys later!

Daily Life

Of course we can't explain to you guys exactly how the citizens of this town acted daily, but we can give you an educated guess based on the artifacts, architecture, and other stuff we have discovered. Here's what we think:
Citizens of Pompeii followed the very basic lifestyle of the early civilizations, incorporating the theatre and gladiator arenas as a crucial form of entertainment. Even though they were primitive, people have to look good. There is evidence that women have used make up as well as perfume which were all natural. Bathing which was usually in a public bath was in the afternoon, and then came the dining. The dining aspects of their life seem to not have been as important in their lives than it is in ours today. Their kitchens were generally poorly lit rooms at the back of the house, with small ovens and basins to cook and clean.

Artifacts

We spent all day excavating artifacts from this city and I must say, even the artifacts here scream into your face that this was a Roman civilization. Everything from the pottery, accessories, and the stone art. What do you think of them?

Ancient Architecture

The architecture at this site is incredible. The architecture's style is from the 2nd to 4th century BC, which include public baths, large public theaters, religious temples, and basilica's. Pompeii is heavily influenced by Roman culture due to them being an ally, and eventually a colony to the Romans. Here's some more pictures we took, as well as a map of Pompeii!

A buried city!

Hey guys, my name is Spencer and recently my team and I just found this city buried under thick layers of ash! This city looks untouched for centuries considering some of the artifacts we found. More news to come in the days or weeks. Stay tuned! Here are some pictures we took of the site.
